The Caterpillar || poem memorization

Today we'll read “The Caterpillar” aloud three times in a row. Repeat twice more during the day. Don’t forget to say the title and author as part of each repetition!

Our goal this week is to memorize this poem.

The Caterpillar
Christina G. Rossetti

Brown and furry
Caterpillar in a hurry;
Take your walk
To the shady leaf, or stalk.
May no toad spy you,
May the little birds pass by you;
Spin and die,
To live again a butterfly.

also in print as

 Brown and furry
 Caterpillar in a hurry,
 Take your walk
 To the shady leaf, or stalk,
 Or what not,
 Which may be the chosen spot.
 No toad spy you,
 Hovering bird of prey pass by you;
 Spin and die,
 To live again a butterfly
