Unicef kid power activities (free social studies resource)

I've already started my planning for our homeschool this fall. I found this Unicef site and it's filled with lots of information. This would be a great social studies filler for all the kids to complete together.

The missions are broken up into two groups: grades 3-5 and 6-8

You download the pdf and watch a video. The activities are straightforward and easy to understand.

According to the FAQ
People everywhere are joining the Kid Power Team, working together to help end global malnutrition. In May 2017, students, educators, families and supporters will come together to celebrate Kid Power Month, a grassroots movement designed to celebrate impact while creating awareness of Kid Power and our collective effort to fight against global malnutrition. For schools and educators, this is the perfect opportunity to turn annual field days and end of year activities into Kid Power Days to generate excitement and drive mass engagement!

How UNICEF Kid Power Works
UNICEF Kid Power is a teacher-led experience incorporating standards-aligned lessons and activities with the world’s first Wearable-for-Good®.**

**The UNICEF Kid Power band is the first wearable device to permanently connect activity to impact.
UNICEF Kid Power is a proven way to get your students to 60 minutes of physical activity a day.*

The kid power bands are purchased through the link from scholastic. They are about $1,000 for a classroom size of 20.
I was thinking of using a simple pedometer.

As a homeschooling parent, getting the kids outside and engaged for a significant amount of time can be a struggle. I just printed out the .pdf's and I can already tell this will be a good addition to our homeschool curriculum.
