Fall/Winter Concert Songs

So Cold Outside
Fran Avni

Chorus:
Brrr - it’s cold outside.
Better keep your toes and fingers hiding.
Let’s have some fun then we’ll run back in
To warm our frozen noses cheeks and chin.

Let’s build a snowman tall
Make a few angels, throw a few snowballs
Then before the sun gets low,
Jump up and down to shake off the snow.

Chorus

Snug and warm back inside
We’ll hang our snowsuits up to dry
Scratch some ice from the windowpane
Tomorrow gonna do it all again.

Happy New Year
Linda Brown

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
To each and every one!

Blow your whistle, ring your bell;
Ring your bell, ring your bell.
Blow your whistle, ring your bell,
A brand new year has come.

Wear a hat and give a yell,
Give a yell, give a yell.
Wear a hat and give a yell,
A brand new year has come.

Clap your hands and shout out loud,
Shout out loud, shout out loud.
Clap your hands and shout out loud,
A brand new year has come.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Autumn Days
Pam the Kindersinger
Pam Minor

Autumn is the time of year
Dad builds a fire we gather near
Chilly weather wear a sweater
Leaves go crunch
Here’s a mug of steaming tea won’t you come sit next to me
Chilly weather where’s my sweater
Leaves go crunch

Chorus:
Rake rake use your muscle
Leaves fall rustle rustle
Shake shake hustle hustle (repeat)

Fall is time for taking walks
Crispy apples cozy talks
Coats are worn we’ll pop some corn
Here have a munch
When hot chocolate tastes so good please have some I knew you would
My coat feels warm we’ll pop some corn
Here have a munch

Autumn’s time for raking leaves
Football games are on TV
Festivals and ghosts and ghouls and
Thanksgiving brunch
I’m so tired of raking leaves gee there sure are lots of trees
I’ll make some soup with loop de loops
Let’s have lunch

As We Go Round the Sun

Barbara Klaskin Silberg
Words by Bob Silberg

Winter, it’s so exciting
Hearing sleigh bells
And watching candle lighting
And we’re wishing
Joy to everyone
As we go once more around the sun

There’s another year, fresh and clear, straight ahead
Like a field of snow
All across the land there’s a brand-new beginning now
Just think of the things that could happen
Magic can be spun
And we’ll watch the stars go whizzing by
As we go ’round the sun.

What could be more inviting
Singing carols
And fam’lies reuniting
And it’s laughter
Merriment and fun
As we go once more around the sun

There’s another year, fresh and clear, straight ahead
Like a field of snow
All across the land there’s a brand-new beginning now
Just think of the things that could happen
Hang on, everyone!
And we’ll watch the stars go whizzing by
And it’s full speed ahead as through space we fly
The future has just begun
With eyes open wide
On this carousel ride
As we go ’round the sun.

Even Deep in Winter
Barb Tilsen

Even deep in winter the sun will rise
The sun will rise, the sun will rise
Even deep in winter the sun will rise
Even on the darkest days
Even deep in winter the birds will sing
The birds will sing, the birds will sing
Even deep in winter the birds will sing
Even on the darkest days
Even deep in winter love will grow
Love will grow, love will grow
Even deep in winter love will grow
Even on the darkest days
Even deep in winter the sun will rise
The birds will sing, love will grow
Even deep in winter the sun will rise
Even on the darkest days

The Icicle Ball

Karen Rupprecht & Pam Minor

Chorus
Let’s stamp stamp stamp (clap) and stamp our feet (clap)
Gotta keep warm moving to the beat (clap)
Wiggle our fingers and then our toes we’re gonna be like Eskimoes
Wiggle our fingers and stretch up tall
We’re going to the Icicle Ball

We are all invited this event I’m told
Is in a giant igloo and it’s very cold
There’s lots of dancing food and fun for all
But you’d better bundle up for the Icicle Ball

Look around the chairs are huge ice cubes
If they ask me to sit I’ll politely refuse
Did you notice they use sleds for tabletops
The centerpieces are bouquets of frozen pops

Our hostess just asked us to sit down please
I hope the food is hot I’m beginning to freeze
So what if our waiter is a polar bear
I wish that I had worn long underwear

Okay it’s official I’m chilled to the bone
A penguin just handed me a grape snow cone
I want to go home I’m beginning to droop
I need to eat a big bowl of vegetable soup

So next time this happens when I give you a call
Remind me how I froze at the Icicle Ball

Catchin' Snowflakes

Little white snowflakes, falling from the sky
Floatin’ over my head, way up so high
But before they reach the ground, I’m gonna open my mouth
Stick my tongue out, and catch ‘em as they travel down south

CHORUS
Ah, ah, ah-ah, I’m catchin’ snowflakes
On my tongue, that’s where they’ll land
Ah, ah, ah-ah, I’m catchin’ snowflakes
With my mouth, not with my hand

A snowflake is just a drop of rain
That has frozen in the winter air
When it hits my tongue, it melts away
But there are more to catch everywhere

CHORUS

Ring the Bells

Pam Minor and Karen Rupprecht

Chorus
Ring ring ring the bells ring them loud and clear oh
Ring ring ring the bells the holidays are here
Hints of snow in the air families gather everywhere
Ring ring ring the bells ring them loud and clear

Ring ring ring the bells ring them loud and clear oh
Ring ring ring the bells the holidays are here
Laughter and love abound let’s all make a cheerful sound
Ring ring ring the bells ring them loud and clear

Ring ring ring the bells ring them loud and clear oh
Ring ring ring the bells the holidays are here
Tell everyone of days long gone share good food and sing the songs
Ring ring ring the bells ring them loud and clear

Ring ring ring the bells ring them loud and clear oh
Ring ring ring the bells the holidays are here
Let us pause one and all and listen to the clarion call
Ring ring ring the bells ring them loud and clear
Ring ring ring the bells the holidays are here

Have You Ever Seen a Penguin?
Tune: Did You Ever See a Lassie?
Have you ever seen a penguin, a penguin, a penguin.
Have you ever seen a penguin swim this way and that?
Swim this way and that way and this way and that way.
Have you ever seen a penguin swim this way and that?
Other verses: slide…waddle…flap…

Crinkle Crinkle Crunchity Crunch

Crinkle, crinkle, crunchity crunch, Crinkle, crinkle, crunchity crunch,
Crinkle, crinkle, crunchity crunch, I like autumn leaves a bunch! (jump up and down)
Crinkle, crinkle, crunchity crunch, Crinkle, crinkle, crunchity crunch, Crinkle, crinkle, crunchity crunch, I like autumn leaves this much! (spread arms wide)
