Glass jar
Fill the pot with 3 cups of water and bring to a boil.
Once at a boil, slowly stir in 9 tbsp of Borax.
Stir until the Borax has completely dissolved, should only be a few minutes.
Cut pipe cleaners to the length you want your icicles to be. Make sure you you cut enough so they aren't touching the bottom of the pot or jar.
Lay a knife or wooden spoons over the pot and glass jar. Tie a piece of string around said utensil and then the pipe cleaner. Remember to space out the pipe cleaners, can't touch the bottom or sides of pot/jar.
*** Pouring hot liquids into anything made from glass, can break the glass. Once your liquid mixture cools pour into the jar. If you are making this in a pot you can start right away.
The less pipe cleaners you have tied the more crystals will appear on the pipe cleaner. If you plan on making a string garland of crystals break make another batch and fill glass jars.
These need to sit for about 10 hours. We tried this before bedtime and the next morning we had these!
To clean your pot, just add a little water and reboil to remove the crystals.
